I think being cautious is a smart thing, but I also wouldn't be afraid of something if it makes the team better now and later. First rounders are great, but if there is a year to deal our 1st away, this might be it tbh (simply because of it not being a high 1st rounder). Defensive depth is still an issue imho, as is center. 3rd/4th line center needs to produce more combined with injuries makes it a problem.

It's also a good time to try and unload somebody like Dalton Prout.

But stay far away from anything crazy.

We'll give you Ennis and retain half his salary for a guy like Heatherington

I think Patrick Sharp would look good on your team.

In the 13 season Jarmo got Comeau for a 5th in the 14 season he got Shultz for a 5th I think he has to be patient, essentially if he gets a 4th line center he replaces sedlak and gagne goes back on the wing. 4th line centers are the most common thing in this league it shouldnt be expensive

EDIT: Zac Dalpe

would love to understand how they were able to claim Dalpe and assign him to the AHL

Wasn't he already in the AHL?

He is able to go to the Ahl because that's allowed for waiver claim. MIN was assigning him to the minors if he cleared. The team that claims the player can send him to the minors right away even with a 1 way contract. More of a cap friendly rule that allows teams more options
